We are ecstatic to welcome Dr. Shayna Zalec to the BDC family. Dr. Shayna received a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) Bradenton.
Dr. Mark is incredibly impressed by Dr. Shayna’s technical ability as well as her philosophy around the importance of patient relationships, something he has prided himself on his entire career.
“During our first interview I immediately recognized that she possessed the exact level of empathy I find to be the most important attribute in a dentist. It is great to see someone who has energy, technical skills, and the ability to listen and truly provide the highest level of care. I know my patients will have total confidence in her.” -Dr. Mark Brodhagen
More about Dr. Zalec
Originally from De Pere, WI; Dr. Shayna Zalec attended University of Wisconsin at Lacrosse for her undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry. From there she moved to Bradenton Florida for the first half of her dental school career and eventually onto Erie, Pennsylvania where she did her yearlong residency at LECOM. Dr. Shayna served as Class President and has an extensive list of volunteer work including working with the Dental Philanthropy Club, Forensics Club, Give Kids a Smile Day, Dentistry from the Heart, ASDA Day of Hope, and Mission of Mercy.
“Since I was a child, I’ve always enjoyed going to the dentist. My dentist was empathetic, personable, honest, intelligent, talented and gave me confidence with my smile. I realized that I wanted to provide the same level of care and compassion to others, and thus, I pursued dentistry. Being back in Green Bay has allowed me the opportunity to build new relationships, grow in my knowledge about dentistry, and provide care to many patients. I’m looking forward to continuing to expand in these areas and providing the best dental care possible.” -Dr. Shayna
